Not much excitement in the world on MT. School went okay. French, English, and Calculus passed without incident. In Physics, Mr. Jones signed my homework so that means that I got the credit. Before Physics, I had a meeting with my guidance counselor, Mr. Mercer, about college. He just wanted to know my plans which I honestly don’t have any. All seniors have to see their counselors. I want to be an Architect. They have a computer career test you can take anytime you want in the library. I’ve done it a few times. It usually says I should be an engineer but I like art too. So I fudged some answers to make sure it spit Architect out as a possibility. Since the University of Colorado is the only school in CO that has an Architecture program, I picked up an application. Not sure If I can afford to go out of state. I am almost finished filling it out. In Econ, I didn't talk to Julia that much. But during lunch I talked to her a little more. Mike finally saw her. I wonder what he thinks. Later on she looked kind of down and when I said "hi" she brightened up. During 6th hour, my free period, I finished that book and I talked to Belinda, a foreign exchange student from down under. She is on the cross country team. After school, Mike and I went to our Dad's to pay our insurance that we owe him. He pays the bill and we pay him. Heck, maybe it’s just a way for him to make sure we see him once in a while. When we were younger, we would go have sleepovers at his house. It was great. Usually good food (better yet a trip to Showtime Pizza), lax rules, soda and CABLE!! I saw my first booby movie at his house one morning while he was sleeping. But he has this girlfriend that we all hate. We even call her ‘It’- never her real name. She is the same lady he cheated on my mom with and led to the divorce. I never feel comfortable around her. She was gone and my Dad was pretty friendly today. Practice was easy today but I got some good work in. There was also a speaker on what a champion is. He is Coach’s brother-in-law. He is some tri-athlete who has done some big races. He had some great advice and gave both mental and physical strategies to think about. I already practice some of the tips that he prescribed. One of the most useful bits of advice he gave was when running up a hill don't let up at the top, run a few steps over the other side. At home I watched T.V., did my French, and read my English assignment. I also went to the store. Such is life. I took a shower when I got home and now I'm all clean and I feel sweet, ready for a new day. Here is one of the points the speaker brought up:
"You can always rest at the end."-Janet Evans, Olympic Gold Medalist
